Society for Women’s Health Research, Communications Manager [Washington, Dc] | October 2021 – Present
The Society for Women’s Heath Research (SWHR) is a thought leader in promoting research on biological sex differences in disease and improving women’s health through science, policy and education. SWHR is making women’s health mainstream. At SWHR, I manage all external and internal communications for the company, including social media channels on X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube; website and blog content; email marketing; and incoming media and partnership requests. Some programming I’ve enjoyed working on include our menopause program, endometriosis program, and lupus program. I recently led a full redesign of the SWHR.org website as well.

District Bridges is a community and business improvement organization. I volunteer during community events, festivals, and other business dates.

Washington Improv Theater is a local improv theater in Dc. I volunteer occasionally as check-in staff for auditions or a show usher.

ForeverFamily, Volunteer and Tutor [Atlanta, Ga] | 2016 – 2022
ForeverFamily is a nonprofit in Atlanta working to support children with incarcerated parents, and their communities. I have worked as an onsite volunteer and chaperon during visitation days and a virtual tutor throughout the 2020, 2021, and 2022 school years.
Atlanta Women’s Foundation, Volunteer and Fundraiser [Atlanta, Ga] | 2019 – 2021
The Atlanta Women’s Foundation helps fund a variety of programming for economically vulnerable women and girls in the metro Atlanta community. I have worked as event help including for their annual luncheon and helped raised over $2,000 for their 2020 Numbers Too Big To Ignore virtual campaign.
Urban Recipe, Volunteer [Atlanta, Ga] | 2020 – 2021
Urban Recipe is a local Atlanta area food co-op empowering community members to take control of their food security, while providing necessary food and household resources to those in need. Their motto is “dignity tastes good”.

As part of the healthcare practice, I worked with clients like Philips Healthcare and Children’s Mercy Kansas City. On occasion, I also supported corporate clients like Global Payments and UPS as well as Northside Hospital, Refinery29 and Boston Consulting Group. I led media projects and manager reporter relationships, conduct research and support strategic planning as well as provide on-site event for select needs. I built skills working on earned media and long form writing projects for blog, thought leadership op ed and website copy, alongside social media content and strategy for clients. Some of my favorite work at FH included stories about vaccinations and genetics, as well as company culture op ed writing.

As a marketing assistant for this online ecotourism site, I compiled research about potential programming opportunities to extend GGT’s work into the professional and academic fields.
Peachtree Publishers, Publicity and Marketing Intern [Atlanta, Ga] | Fall 2017
While at Peachtree, I helped create publicity materials for new, front-list books coming out for the Spring, Summer and Fall 2018 seasons. I drafted teacher reading guides and author blog posts. I also reviewed current industry publications and compiled trend reports for the team. At times, I supported influencer and warehouse mailing programs.

While on staff, I wrote the weekly crime report and worked closely with campus police to capture news updates. I also wrote for the Emory Life and News sections, where I interviewed alumni, looked into cool things on campus, and more.

Generation Graduation is a tutor program partnered with local area high schools in the area, led through the Volunteer Emory office. I worked as a writing tutor for Grady High School.
Jan Daksha Trust (JDT), Intern [Udaipur, Rajasthan, India] | Summer 2017
As part of a 9-week program, I lived in Udaipur, stayed with a local host family and work at NGO Jan Daksha Trust daily. I was placed with JDT through a partnership between Emory University’s Upgrade Program and local organization Jatan Sansthan. While with JDT, I collected data and personal stories from over 80 female migrant workers to compile a case study of the group’s work and its positive effect on local female populations. The study included five person interviews with survivors of domestic violence, selected through the counseling program JDT hosts.

I served as the Co-Editor in Chief of the Oxford College paper, overseeing weekly content, editing all articles and publishing stories to the site. We also secured funding for a new marketing campaign while I was leading the paper. I began on the Spokesman staff as a Life Section writer. This is a piece I had a lot of fun writing during my last semester at Oxford.
